Located in the southern Paris suburb of Malakoff, ST'501 is a leader in accessibility services for TV and cinema. ST’501 was founded in 1996 as an audiovisual post-production company, specializing in multilingual subtitling.
Over the years, the company has expanded its activities to include closed captioning for the deaf and hard of hearing. In 2008, it added captioning for live television broadcasts as part of its services offer, showcasing both its technological and human prowess. In 2018, ST’501 launched its audio description department, headed up by an expert with 10 years’ experience. Today, the company stands out in the industry for its high-quality services and responsiveness. Each year, it subtitles more than 4,200 hours of programming, over 75% of which are live, and delivers audio description for over 200 hours of programming.
ST’501 also provides French sign language translation and live multilingual subtitling of events (conferences, meetings).
Thanks to its proven reputation in the field, ST'501 was certified in early 2019 as a training organization and now offers sessions in live audio description and subtitling to train tomorrow’s accessibility specialists.
