With Open Arms
Jean-Etienne Fougerole, a figure in the French literary and media scene, is a humanist married to a wealthy hieress disconnected from everyday reality. Fougerole promotes his new novel With Open Arms, which encourages the well-off to take in people in need, during a televised debate. His opponent challenges him to practice what he preaches, Fougerole, trapped and cut to the quick, accepts the challenge so as to not lose face. But that very evening, there is a knock on the front door of his sumptuous home. Fougerole's convictions will be sorely tested.
